About Me
Registeraed Counselling Therapist #RCT-21-033
Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) #14478
IFS Level 1 Therapist
We all have our own challenges and struggles in our daily lives, and therapists are no exception. I became a therapist in the same way that many people in the helping professions have. After a season of reckoning with my own childhood traumas, ongoing anxieties and recurrent bouts of depression, I sought out therapy support for myself, and found it to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Therapy helped me ground myself in my own sense of self and provided me with tools for regulation. It helped me find a path forward based on my strengths, and helped me connect with individuals who would support me as I grew and evolved. Because of my positive experience in therapy, I decided I wanted to offer the same kind of support and professional help to others.
I graduated from Briercrest Seminary, in 2013, with a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and have thoroughly enjoyed my work in counselling therapy for the last 12+ years. I works with a variety of client issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, sexuality, gender identity, family conflict, and relationships. My specializations include trauma and C-PSTD, life transitions, and serving the 2S LGBTQIA+ community.
When I'm not in the office, I enjoy going to the gym, cooking and gardening, and spending time with my partner, our 2 kids and and 2 cuddly cats.
